On Sunday, 12/15, the Blue Lake Rancheria (BLR) Tribal Police Department (TPD) participated in the annual Blue Lake Holiday Parade, joining other agencies, organizations, and community members in a seasonal celebration that highlighted the community spirit of Blue Lake. Kevin Miller, BLR Chief of Police represented the TPD, and drove the department’s newly acquired Utility Task Vehicle (UTV) in the parade. The UTV enhances the department’s operational capabilities by improving mobility and access in rural and off-road environments, strengthening the department’s ability to serve its community.
The BLR TPD did a loop around town in the parade, waving at attendees and tossing out treats. The Blue Lake Holiday Parade was a great opportunity for BLR to connect with the larger community of Blue Lake. Jason Ramos, BLR Tribal Chairman attended the tree-lighting ceremony during the parade, engaging with the community and sharing the holiday spirit. BLR would like to thank the parade organizers for putting this event together, as well as the other agencies and participants, and community members who attended.
