Indian Health Services Delegation visits BLR

On Thursday, June 12th, Blue Lake Rancheria (BLR) Tribal Chairman Jason Ramos and BLR Director of Tribal and Government Affairs Heidi Moore-Guynup had the honor of hosting a delegation from Indian Health Services (IHS) including:

Ben Smith – Acting Director, IHS
Beerly Miller – Director, California area IHS
Cmdr. Martin Smith – Director, Office of Environmental Health and Engineering
Capt. Jonathan Rash – Associate Director, Office of Environmental Health and Engineering
Lt Cmdr. Lorna Benoit – Acting Director Ben Smith’s Aide

During this meeting, the IHS delegation viewed some of the projects we have been working on and talked about possible plans for partnership in the future. IHS has been visiting several Tribal nations across the region, including BLR in their quest to develop a deeper understanding of Tribal infrastructure needs associated with health, water, housing, sewer and more.

This meet and greet between BLR and IHS is just part of BLR’s ongoing mission to further achieve beneficial and positive partnerships with different organizations to create a sustainable and healthy future for our community. We look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together with amazing organizations like IHS.
