Last week at 𝗛𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗮 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹, Blue Lake Rancheria’s Office of Emergency Services offered Teen CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) Training for local students! 🚨
Emergency Manager 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘄 𝗕𝗼𝗴𝗮𝗿 and OES Programs Assistant 𝗜𝘀𝗮𝗮𝗰 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝘆 led an Intro to First Aid session, giving students hands-on training in lifesaving skills, including:
🟢 How to ensure 𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 before providing aid
🟢 The proper way to 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 in an emergency
🟢 Understanding and using 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗣𝗣𝗘) — including how to remove it safely without contamination
🟢 Techniques for controlling bleeding and 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘀 in trauma situations
