On 10/8/2025, Blue Lake Rancheria (BLR) hosted a group of college administrators supporting Economic Workforce Development across community colleges in the Far North California region, encompassing Humboldt, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama, and Trinity counties. The Far North California region is characterized by its sparsely populated, heavily forested landscapes. The group was taken on a tour of BLR, getting to see some of the current workforce development projects that BLR is undertaking.
The group has been meeting in order to plan the development of new workforce development programs in the region. Clean energy is a topic which the group identified as needing additional programs created for to help establish new careers in solar & wind installation, low-voltage electricians, and more. During the tour of BLR, the group was able to see the clean energy initiatives that BLR has established and learned about some of the educational programs that have been implemented.
