Blue Lake Rancheriaโs ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฒ๐ณ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ฃ๐ผ๐น๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ, ๐๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐ป ๐ ๐ถ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ฟ, serves as a vital member of the regional Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) steering committee. CIT is a partnership between law enforcement, behavioral health professionals, government agencies, and community organizations working together to improve how our region responds to mental health crises.
This important collaboration helps ensure that those experiencing a mental health emergency receive compassionate, informed careโwhile keeping both individuals and first responders safe.
Chief Miller recently met with his CIT cohort, which trains local responders through two intensive 40-hour courses each year, reaching up to 80 professionals annually.
Weโre grateful for Chief Millerโs leadership and the dedication of all involved in strengthening public safety and community wellness.
We would also like to recognize and congratulate ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ ๐ ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ฎ๐ด๐ป๐ฎ from the Eureka Police Department on receiving this yearโs CIT Responder of the Year award! Her dedication to supporting individuals in crisis is a powerful example of community-centered public service.
Weโre honored to be part of this vital work that prioritizes compassion, collaboration, and culturally informed care. These efforts help create safer, healthier communities by building trust, supporting those in crisis, and strengthening the partnerships that make lasting change possible.
