Blue Lake Rancheria Tribal Police participate in Torch Run for Special Olympics

On Wednesday, June 18th, ๐—•๐—น๐˜‚๐—ฒ ๐—Ÿ๐—ฎ๐—ธ๐—ฒ ๐—ฅ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฎ ๐—ง๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ฃ๐—ผ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐——๐—ฒ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜ participated in the ๐—Ÿ๐—ฎ๐˜„ ๐—˜๐—ป๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜ ๐—ง๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ฐ๐—ต ๐—ฅ๐˜‚๐—ป for Special Olympics in Old Town Eureka, along with other police departments across Humboldt County. Every year, Special Olympics supporters are paired with law enforcement personnel as they carry the Flame of Hope through areas of California.

This event is part of a fundraising effort for Special Olympics and helps to raise awareness in different communities. The movement is comprised of more than 110,000 law enforcement personnel internationally who choose Special Olympics as their charity of choice. In Northern California alone, over 20 million dollars have been raised from the Torch Run. ๐—•๐—น๐˜‚๐—ฒ ๐—Ÿ๐—ฎ๐—ธ๐—ฒ ๐—ฅ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฎ ๐—ง๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ฃ๐—ผ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐——๐—ฒ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜ is grateful for the opportunity to play such an impactful role in our community.

The Northern California section of the Torch Run began in Siskiyou County, before moving towards Shasta and Del Norte on the way to Humboldt. After Humboldt, the torch will be on route to Sacramento for a Capital Ceremony and on its way to the final destination: This year’s Special Olympics in Santa Clara!
