Every year, Special Olympics supporters are paired with law enforcement personnel as they carry the Flame of Hope through areas of California.
This event is part of a fundraising effort for Special Olympics and helps to raise awareness in different communities. The movement is comprised of more than 110,000 law enforcement personnel internationally who choose Special Olympics as their charity of choice. In Northern California alone, over 20 million dollars have been raised from the Torch Run. ๐๐น๐๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฒ ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฎ ๐ง๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐น ๐ฃ๐ผ๐น๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ is grateful for the opportunity to play such an impactful role in our community.
The Northern California section of the Torch Run began in Siskiyou County, before moving towards Shasta and Del Norte on the way to Humboldt. After Humboldt, the torch will be on route to Sacramento for a Capital Ceremony and on its way to the final destination: This year’s Special Olympics in Santa Clara!
