“It was a pleasure visiting with the Blue Lake Rancheria and the Blue Lake Gaming Commission…I was impressed with the quality of the surveillance coverage provided in the facility as well as the overall effort of the BLGC Surveillance Department…..it was clear to me that at the time of this visit and for the period reviewed, the BLGC had implemented a thorough Internal Audit process….Based on this review it was my observation that the BLGC appeared to be fully compliant with and to exceed the NIGC licensing regulations….The files were scrupulously maintained. Further, the detail of each investigation was thoroughly documented…..It is evident to me that the BLGC takes its responsibility as the primary regulator of gaming conducted within the jurisdiction of the Blue Lake Rancheria very seriously….I would like to thank you and the BLGC for the professionalism and able assistance provided by each member of the BLGC and BLC staff….”
“I received a letter detailing the elements of fraud as someone was using a stolen credit card…in the Blue Lake Casino. When [the suspect interacted] with the cashiers, every single one of them demanded ID, [documented] the numbers…compared the face with the name, and watched that the signature matched in each case….The professional conduct of [Blue Lake Casino cashiers] was the foundation for this conviction. And I must say that the professional conduct of [Blue Lake Casino personnel] did not go unnoticed by the court. Their adherence to procedure reflected favorably on the casino as a whole and onto each one of them as individuals. In this day and age many people cut corners, but in this case their attention to detail and procedure paid off. Please thank them from the Gaming Commission for a job well done.”
