Structure and Value
Like all companies and partnerships, Tribally-owned enterprises have specific structures. Native American businesses are regulated by U.S. Congress. Additionally, Tribes sometimes enter into agreements such as tribal-state compacts to further organize their operations. Tribes can, in certain instances, manage and regulate their own businesses or some aspects of their businesses. For example, Tribes are able to provide unemployment benefits through a reimbursement of actual costs as administered by the state on behalf of the Tribe.
